Tax year calendar for 2024/25

April 6, 2024: First day of the new tax year 2024/25.

April 5, 2025: Last day of the tax year 2024/25.

May 3, 2025: Deadline for issuing P60 documents for the 2024/25 tax year to employees.

July 6, 2025: P11D documents for the 2024/25 tax year issued to employees who received additional benefits, such as a company car or private health insurance.

5 October 2025: The last day to register for Self-Assessment if you started self-employment or, for any other reason (e.g. profit from capital gains, income from property rental, etc.), are required to file a tax return for income earned during the 2024–25 tax year.

31 October 2025: The final deadline for submitting your Self-Assessment tax return for the 2024–25 tax year in paper form.

31 January 2026: The final deadline for filing your online Tax Return for the 2024–25 tax year. An automatic £100 penalty will be charged to those who miss the deadline.

31 January 2026: The final deadline for paying any tax due for the 2024–25 tax year. Interest will be charged on unpaid tax at a rate of 4% above the Bank of England base rate. A separate late payment penalty of 5% will also be applied to any outstanding tax after 30, 60, and 365 days past the due date.
